Wing Commander R Catterall

Wing Commander Roy Catterall joined the Air Training Corps in February 1963 reaching the rank of Cdt Flight Sergeant. He was appointed to the rank of Adult Warrant Officer in 1972 and retained this position until March 1978 when he was commissioned into the RAF VR(T).

Over the next 20 yrs he served as OC 430 Sqn, OC 317 Sqn, Wing Gliding Liaison Officer and deputy Wing Training Officer before promotion to Sqn Ldr and joining the Wing Staff as Wing Training Officer.

Wg Cdr Catterall assumed command of East Lancashire Wing in January 2002.
