Flight Lieutenant Kris Mistry
RAFVR(T)

Flight Lieutenant Mistry joined the Air Training Corps in November 1971. He attained the status of Staff Cadet and the rank of Cdt Flight Sergeant. He also attained the Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award in February 1979 and the same year visited Buckingham Palace .

As an adult, he served as an Honorary Civilian Instructor, Adult Warrant Officer and in 1981 he was commissioned into the RAFVR(T). Over the next 19 years he served with both East Lancs and Cumbria & North Lancs Wing at 247 Sqn, 317 Sqn and 345 Sqn.

On the 1st February 1989 he was appointed OC 2200 (Oldham) Sqn and twelve years later promoted to Wing Staff Officer. More recently, on the 1st October 2004, Flt Lt Mistry was appointed East Lancs Wing Training Officer.
