Wing Warrant Officer Peter Wells

Peter joined the Air Cadets in 1963 serving with 1005 (Radcliffe & Whitefield) Squadron as it was then known. He rose through the ranks to Cadet Warrant Officer and stayed with 1005 Sqn up until 1968 when he enlisted as a regular in the Royal Air Force serving in the RAF Regiment.

He then came back to the Air Cadets in 1987 as a Civilian Instructor and in 1989 he passed his board for Adult Warrant Officer. Returning to 1005 Sqn, AWO Wells stayed there for 4 years. After brief spells with 1832 (North Manchester) and 1035 (Accrington) Squadrons AWO Wells "marked time" with 317 (Failsworth) Sqn where he has been for the last 5 years. It is during his time at 317 Sqn that AWO Wells has held the position of Wing Warrant Officer.
