PRESS RELEASE - 5th Feb 2007
ATC Sunday Parade, Manchester, 4th February 2007.

800 Air Cadets and Staff paraded through Manchester yesterday to celebrate the foundation of the Air Training Corps in 1941.

The cadets came from ATC squadrons across East Lancashire Wing as well as East Cheshire and South Manchester Wing.

The event takes place every year throughout the United Kingdom.

The 'march-past' and salute, at the steps of the Town Hall, was taken by the Regional Commandant North, Group Captain John Middleton accompanied by the Lord Mayor of Manchester Councillor David Sandiford and Lady Mayoress Mrs Christine Sandiford.

Leading the march-past was the marching band of 1036 (Bury) Squadron. The band of 146 (Northwich) Squadron led the first half of the event, which culminated in a thanksgiving service at Manchester Cathedral.
